Exclusive Interview with Laine: a Real Hypnotherapist
Every child knows a little about hypnosis. But here , we have an interview with Lainie, the hypnotherapist. After you read this interview, you will change your point of view about hypnotists.
(A stands for Aaron and L stands for Lainie)
A: What is the average income hypnotists earn?
L: Average income is 125 and hour, and 60,000 a year.
A: How does hypnosis work?
L: The mind is split into four parts: the conscious mind, the critical filter, the subconcious mind, and the primitive mind. The concious mind is where your logic and reasoning is. The subconcious mind is where your associations are (for example, if you think cake is good, then you have a positive association eating cake). The primitive mind decides what to do when you get scared. The critical filter is the body guard of the mind.
So when you have at thought, you make that thought with your conscious mind. The critical filter checks in with the subconcious to see if the subconcious agrees with the thought. If it doesn't agree, the thought gets kicked out. If it does agree, the thought can pass through.
Hypnosis works by opening a trap door in the primitive mind so that the thought can pass through to the subconscious without the critical filter knowing about it.
A: What is the difficulty?
L: Hypnosis is not hard for those who understand other people easily.
A: Do you enjoy being one? Why or why not?
L: I love being a hypnotherapist, but I would not like to be a hypnotist. Hypnotists are the ones who make people quack like a duck. A hypnotherapist helps people change their lives. While quacking like a duck is funny, I like to help people more.
A: Why are you a hypnotherapist?
L: I'm a hypnotherapist because I'm curious about the way the mind works and because I like to help others.
A: Is hypnotism real?
L: Hypnotism is real. Scientists have used MRI machines to look at someone's brain when they're hypnotized and the machine shows that the way the brain works actually changes when a person is hypnotized.
A: Is it like the movies? L: Hypnosis is kind of similar to the movies, but mostly not. You can use a watch or a spiral to hypnotize someone, but you can't completely control their mind. If you tell them to act like a monkey but they don't want to, they won't.
